Solenn Heussaff

With her second condo, well-known celebrity Solenn Heussaff saw it as a chance to reflect her artistic side and take an active role in the design of her new home.

CHALLENGE

Sharing this space with her boyfriend Nico, we needed to find a perfect balance to represent their Parisian and Argentian roots without clashing the vibrant colors and varying textures.

SOLUTION

Understanding Solenn’s wish that her space in Manila also keeps the memory of her life in France, we set inspiration from the French countryside as the main theme. To keep it chic and modern, we maintained simple lines in the furniture selection with reclaimed wood and rustic details to bring out warmth and welcome.

Color was brought on by their collection of artwork and the vibrant energy drawn out from Argentinian hues and Moroccan flair. Not only did it show the couple’s history but also the lively energy they exude in the present.

Eileen and Gino Borromeo

After starting out as a jet setting couple, Eileen and Gino Borromeo finally decided to plant some roots and settle down with a 97-sqm space to call their home.

CHALLENGE

We needed to incorporate the couple’s expansive collection of curios, travel trophies and furniture to tell the stories of their adventures. On top of that, given that they are a quirky and inviting couple, their home needed to be inviting.

SOLUTION

Getting to know the couple better, two key things stood out. Eileen’s energy comes from her love of food and fashion while Gino is playful with his game consoles and interest in design. For a couple both working in advertising, this became an opportunity to be creative in an already vibrant space.

First thing we did was add focal points like applying a grey color palette and dark furniture better highlight their more colorful pieces in the room from their past apartments and brick walls to line their detailed bedroom.

For these foodies, it was a no-brainer that their living, dining, and kitchen resembled a café and displayed their souvenirs from their visits. To cap it all off, warm ambient lighting blanketed the space – all ready to welcome them home.

Bayo Glorietta Mall

Bayo is one of the pioneers in the proud Filipino fashion industry. It has risen amongst well-known labels both local and global and continues to make influence the Philippine fashion scene. It’s known for its sophisticated but easy-on-the-eye style that most women from almost all ages have come to love.

CHALLENGE

As the flagship branch, Bayo wanted this location to be more special. Their vision was to incorporate a southern resort-like quality to the store to enhance the experience for customers and highlight their recent collection. We needed to bring out that vision without totally veering away from the brand’s well-known image.

SOLUTION

Plantation Charm: an ode to the country’s grand haciendas and memorable summers in ancestral homes. We first worked with well-known local artist Kristine Caguiat to lend her art in the hand-drawn patterns for the logo to emphasize the personal and intimate touches to this branch. The team used that as the center of the design and carried it through the rest of the interiors.

Using materials like wood, concrete bricks and machuca floor tiles each space was purposely filled with props and details to recreate the feeling of an ancestral home and lighted with warmth from interesting fixtures hanging from above.

Pink Me Up Nail and Dry Bar

Owners Regina Lim and Stephanie Sy wanted to highlight glamour in their already girly spa. A spa the perfect place for girl bonding or solo time but Regina and Stephanie wanted to be visibly different from the rest, especially because the space doubles as a party venue. As one of Manila’s newest go-to spot, their service promises of elegance and indulgence for everyone who steps inside and their interiors had to match.

CHALLENGE

The work involved not only included interior design but brand imaging for the store as well. With a business as tricky as spa services the space had to allow the proper storage of facilities to promote cleanliness and quality of service. But not to be mistaken for a doctor’s visit, it had to be welcoming and a place you wanted to spend the rest of the day in with all the necessities of music, books and other girly things.

SOLUTION

Starting of with the brand imagery, Pink Me Up was already very pink in all aspects. It was a service for women and literally had ‘pink’ in the name so we wanted to balance it out and use grey to amp up the sophistication. Most would treat indulgence in excess but we kept elegance as our focus and added hints of royal touches with the splashes of pink and dusty grey that covered every inch and lush cushions and seating. It was like every girl’s dream walk-in closet but a whole lot more.

Mr. D and Ms. L

It didn’t come as a surprise that intellectual couple Mr. D and Ms. L were homebodies. With her as university professor and him working in the demanding world of IT, they needed a space that met all of their needs.

CHALLENGE

With full schedules the space had to be first and foremost utilitarian. Given that both Mr. D and Ms. L are at work most of the day, their home must withstand the daily rush and be a visual jumpstart in the mornings but also transform into a welcoming haven at night.

SOLUTION

We were glad to find out that this couple wasn’t shy about color. Keeping a recurring palette amongst all the rooms, we first used patterns to distribute the palette and balance out the grey tones. The master bedroom resembles a cozy cocoon where in the morning, sunlight makes use of the reflective surfaces to make it brighter.

The living room and dining room maintain a good amount of open space for entertaining family on the weekend while the stairs showcase the couple’s many books – just in case they want to do some reading after their usual midnight snacks.
